Reshuffling [the course schedule]

Hi all,

I just sent out this via e-mail, but I wanted to mention it here as well. In light of this week’s events, I’m doing some shuffling around with regard to the course schedule. Here’s what we’ve got on tap for next week before Fall Break:

Tuesday, 11/15:

—Twine projects + written rationales due

—We’re going to use this time to play each other’s games and talk about them in class

Thursday, 11/17:

—Skype with Jim Brown re: Green Room (I rescheduled this chat for next week)

—Talk about remediation / Bolter & Grusin

—Course evaluations

So in this case, I’m moving the Bolter & Grusin reading that I had originally assigned for next Tuesday, 11/15, to Thursday, 11/17. I’m also getting rid of the original HW assignment for 11/17 that required you to bring in an object of your choice to class.

More broadly, as far as the remediating theory project goes, I’m still waiting for a handful of folks to e-mail me their book choices. If I don’t hear anything from you all by Saturday evening, I’ll go ahead and assign you to a book since our number of class sessions is rapidly dwindling.

I’m also going to push back the remediation project’s written proposal a bit. While this document was due on Thursday, Nov. 17, I’m moving the due date back to Friday, Nov. 25. I’m really sorry to have you all submit something over break, but since we’re running out of time, I need to give you as much time as possible to work on your final projects. I’m worried that if I have you submit the proposal next week, you won’t have had enough time to look at your book. And if I have you submit the proposal after break, then there won’t be enough time to make your artifacts.

In any case, I’ll make these changes on the course schedule and on the assignment sheet. Let me know if you have any questions or concerns. And please don’t hesitate to reach out if there’s anything I can do to support you.
